QUOTE(vimto)
why the 7900gt, because of the memory and core speed?.
carnt see it be much different. dont think theres no BIG demanding games for the 7800gtx yet?,still 24 pixel pipelines.
meself i think its a great scamm for folks to buy them.
any of u no if ati any good, never tryed meself as im a nvidia man meself,
they look pukka but do they perform?

Lol vimto the 7900gt standard is quicker than a overclocked 7800gtx and nearly as quick as a 7800gtx 512mb.The 1 ive got is overclocked from 450/1320 to 560/1650 and in tests it whips the 7800gtx 512mb card in all games except fear dam 512 mb helps there.Plus mine cost £250 the 7800gtx oem boards are still £260 so yes there is a huge difference my man.And yes the ATI 1900xtx is the fastest around it beats the 7900gtx is most tests but nvidia will have some new drivers soon which will even it up ive heard. Also ATI have a inbetween card comin out in a few months with better ram and redesigned core called the 580+ its a soupped up 1900xtx with DDR 4 ram
P.S Sweep i wanted that card but i cant wait that long as they were suppose to come in stock 18th of march then the 30th now its april the 13th but yep great deal if u can wait and it will own your sli 6800s

Nope m8 mine is the xfx xxx edition thats its standard clocks i will overclock it a bit to see what it can do.Most 7900gt standard models can go 520/1520 ive read and theres load of mods for it were u need conductive ink pen to join up different parts of the board and then ive seen huge overclocks. Most people seem to have got a zalman 900 cooler and some ram heatsinks ive seen some1 have 750 core and 1840 on the ram thats better than gtx speeds pretty sweet

Lol yes thats why i dint order from there i needed mine quick but yep the xxx editions are hand picked cores from nvidia and xfx and evga pay more for them.Thats why they run so fast and yet still have great warrantys.Phat ant has the 7800gtx xxx edition which was the fastest 7800 goin when it came out.Xfx are great and they only do nvidia cards so they always get the best cores so my advise is if your gettin a 7900gt-gtx get the xfx 1s as they will always overclock more than most boards

yup and i paid through the NOSE for it. lol
wont be doing that again in a hurry.
was really hoping that the 7800 would actually come down in price so that I could SLI it but hey they havent and they dont even sell my one any more. lol oh well.
cross that off the list.

the ati cards of the moment are too big too noisy and consume too much power.
also they are not as well supported as as the nvidia cards.
but other than that they do have some nice features. just wouldnt buy one as they would double the noise output on my pc :|
