and

http://www.tomshardware.com/2002/09/18/bui...n_pc/index.html

its dead easy and shouldnt take very long, but as pete says take your time and read the instructions if you dont know what your doing wink.gif

have been building systems for years and as gearchange said in another thread probably the hardest part is installing the motherboard into the case. but to be honest if you got half a brain thats not a problem either. just use your eyes :P

I got a mission for someone. Build me a pc for about a grand give or take 100. It needs to be able to play BF2 at a repsectable pace. And all compatible (including the cpu biggrin.gif) It's for my mate and he is clueless so I don't know what he want. I'll let you lot decide. He just wants a pc that he won't have to get rid of after a year or two. He wants to be able to upgrade so PCI-E too if possible. Come on geeks show ur l33tness. 10 points and a free knife on Bound for the best pc at the cheapest price.

yes there is every need!
hes obversly wanting this to last at least a year or so. there are many other things other than games that use multi processors, and when you keep saying that no game uses it your quite wrong. many years back when quake 3 arrived i had a dual celeron setup, and with abit of jiggery pokery you could get betweek 40 and 60% over all performance boost with it.
there will be many more games and other applications coming soon enough.

what fret posted up would be more than suitable, only id get a bigger hard drive than that for only a few pounds more.

also scan today only are doing a deal on the AMD cpus this week so you could pick up a 4400 for £313.43 inc vat.

Good choices there i though would get the 160-250 gig hitachi as it runs better plus maybe a sli motherboard. And pete lol dual cores will come good so u may as well buy 1 now or if u gonna go single core like me the opteron 146 is a overclockin beast and its only £160 and is basicly a FX chip under clocked.I would also get the 580 hiper psu as its cheap and gets very good reviews or if u have some spare case the seasonic s12 series 500-600 watt are shit hot.Always remember the psu is very important and most people buy shit 1s like DD and look what happened to his pc lol
