as im sure you know im very technically retarded, thats why i never post in this forum, but the time has come for me to trade in my oldsweet ati radeon x500 gfx card, it has done me well, and i lvoed it, but now it is time to get a better model...
i have a pci-e slot and would prefer a ati gfx card to be honest...
i got a bit of money to spend, probs 500 max but i need to get a gig of ram with that as well...
so if you could post bout what gfx card u could reccomend me, cos my m8 was saying they were bringing out some new stuff or somehting so yeah,
help me get a decent card! pleaseeeeeeeee lol

ati.... the X1900 series is the best ATI out that i can think of. It should fit in your price range aswell, they are about £300.

Yep, nvidia are very good as well Chester, you can pick a 7900gt up for £250, I know you'd be very happy with that.

chester chester chester dont be throwing nvidia out the window yet, you may have loved that junk x1300 thing u got but doesnt mean you should go for an ati card again hehehehe

memory is easy tho cos u wont oc chesty boy

has to be 2 sticks tho cos u got an amd64 cpu which means dual channel memory controller, 2 sticks is better cos in dual channel u get twice the bandwidth...

as for the gcard i probably would gor for the ati x1900xt atm but go for a company like sapphire or connect3d in that area, the 7900gt is also a good buy but is more of a cheaper 7800gtx, so at the very least you should be either buying a x1900xt or 7900gtx
