The new stats program has this concept of stats decaying over a perioud of time if you don't play.
For those of us who play only on a monday, that means you can do really well that night, but your skill drops thereafter because you don't play for 7 days.

This might seem a bit shite.
OTOH, where you get the odd w@nker like chaosboss who plays once and does really well, type start to drop down the rankings because they have not continued to play - so I guess having the decay set means that more consistent players score better over time.....

IF we DO decide to keep this, the next question is by how much should the stats decay? Default is 2% per day.

You summed it up, one-timers are a pain when they stay on the stats. Leave the decay at 2% and we can see how that affects us first.

well to get rid of 1-timing knobs like chaosboss you don't need a particularly high decay... it would be ideal actually if you could set a high decay but have it applied weekly rather than daily, to save the BIATCHES but fcuk the rest
If it must be daily, then 2% sounds nasty... With a skill of 1300 (average-ish IIRC) you will lose 26 points per day, or about 182-ish a week

a) it encourages u to play more and
If we all only play once a week then we all decay by the same % so, relatively speaking, it makes no difference

I don't need encouragement to play more, I just need a non-empty server! Last nite I was amazed to see 20 schlags on the server, shame I was too busy downloading stuff to go play

U kn0b end - u could always pause the d/l and restart it l8r.
Though sometimes they disappear when u do that

hey I even managed to see Drudger on the ZW server around 11.30 last night......... was playing aim-aztec and he was shite.... he hardly scored and died many times, then the line "this is a shite map, if it aint changed I am going".... tf he pissed off LOL.

Has he actually played in any ZW clan matches do we know? We should have a match with ZW and see if he comes in to play!

I remember back in the day Drudger used to be a fairly good player... but then, didn't his main strategy involve skulking @ the back until only a few half-dead ppl were left and then finishing them off, with some appropriate camping and general gayness? I don't think the ZW lot ever actually HAVE any clan matches

Thirdly, the reason the server is always empty is coz kn0bs like u go "oh look, the server is empty - don't think I'll bother". So everyone does that and it remains empty.
Question: Do we really care?

tef don't you know that among the (much) younger generation it is not considered cool to spell properly? especially if you can abbreviate something and look cool at the same time. Even if you are abbreviating a 3 letter word to a 2 letter word... "Bt u r such a slag, i wud kik ur ass" for example...
