I noticed you were playing with VAC on the server the other day. It seems to be running on other servers ok, could we not introduce it on a permanant basis to Biatch?

As far as I am aware, it still is in beta test and therefore no one is actually being banned as yet.

That said, I turned it on the other day while I was on the server. Sure those joining got the message to say it was under VAC but if you refreshed the server list and looked, it still shows as not being secure.

Also coding the parm permanently into the server config seems to have no effect right now. I am aware that another command needs to be passed when CSS starts and thats out of our control. This tells CSS that it is Beta Vac.

Therefore I dont think we can have it on unless we get in touch with our Host and ask them to put it on. They may well decline because it is not officially released!!

Alot of these other servers that have it on are probably privately owned therefore easy to do.

Anyone else care to comment on my thoughts?


On a side note, the people our admin mod has been banning when it thinks they have hacks installed havent come here to whinge. Guess they either hack or dont care Loaded another new version this morning too which should be slightly better and get give false positives.

yer i have seen it ban a few ppl, im sure it is working well enough.

as for vac2 id wait for it to be official and stable. you dont want your server to randomly crash etc..

Yeah exactly. Rumour also has it that it can stop some people from joining for whatever reason even though they are legit players...

Indeed...WON was good but also had it's faults.

Likewise, nothing to hide so I welcome anything that helps to identify scum of the earth.... I mean whats the point in playing if you have to use something to help you. I just dont see what fun people can get out of it other than pissing off other players

As to final release date for VAC2, I dont know. I think Steam are keeping it quiet. Wouldnt surprise me if they just suddenly rolled it out to catch the cheats before they have time to remove their hax
