i played right the way to the end of throne of bhaal... it's worth playing for the ending and the character development (romance rules!) the only minor problem is that very high-level combat tends to be a little to focussed on casting a shitload of spells... your warriors are just pawns it's the wizards that really control the whole thing, doesn't feel *quite* as cool as before. But the story is the best bit of BG so if you got to the end of BG2 you have to play it to find out how your characters story ends...

well i started of as a socerer because i knew that my party would need a decent mage, but aeire sucked major ass and complained the whole time that her wings wernt there

i didnt get a romance because i kicked jaheira out and replaced her with keldron, i had an all male party, because they all kicked major ass.

the part in hell where get all those upgrades, awsome, because then you can use your character if you start the game again.

in B:G1 i stopped playing because i got stuck about halfway. i didnt get to baldurs gate yet though.

For the record you start lvl 7 on BG2. I played a Halfling thief all the way to BG in BG1 but couldn't beat sarevok and his gay boy mages. (Mainly due to my poor poor choice of char. Completed BG2 with sourcerer.

Amazing games still play them sometimes now.

couldn't beat sarevok until I realised the key to lower level combat is ranged weapons... he dies pretty easy if everyone pelts him with arrows, bolts, rocks, dried peas...

you should always have a ranged person, then they should be backed up by your mage, i have my thief as my ranged weapon user then i backed them up because i was a mage

nah mate he failed his saving throw against your "Charm Person" spell so you had your wicked way with him then he woke up the next morning wondering wtf he was doing tied to his bed

I had ranged persons first time round, I just thought "pfft this guy won't be bothered if I fire arrows and stuff at him" so I got pwned over and over, then I realised that wasn't the Way, I gave everyone ranged weapons and he died pretty quick

but this was only after i lost my saving throw against your domination spell and was forced to do your wicked deads

uses protection from evil and summons a greater bhaal demon, Crawly tries to save against death on bhaal demon's petrification spell but realises his shitty druid skills dont equal shit in comparison to my mage ability and is turned to stone!

Bound turns around in awe of this masterful mage who has just entered the tavern, tries to use his greater axe of fortitude +9 but is headbutted in the nuts by two halflings i have under a domination spell!
