Hey all, as some of you know i got laid off from work earlier this week :-x
This has left me with alot of spare time on my hands so if anyone has any ideas for new maps they would like making or at least attempting :-P post 'em here.

hmm ideas eh.
Maybe think about environments or scenarios from films. Have you thought about taking it further?, maybe modding?
Is anyone out there doing an alien/s mod?
Or if thats too much maybe stick with levels and recreate the nakatomi building from die hard. Keep it restricted to 2 - 3 levels. Keep it quite small and include the roof top.
Maybe a decent jungle level? keeping it quite small again, huts either end of the level. Include around 32 spawn points in all the levels giving the servers the ability to increase their number of slots if they want to.
The maps you should study are the ones that people seem to enjoy most such as prodigy, office, dust, dust 2, and aztec.
Each of these maps have maximum of 2 or 3 entry/exit points, this keeps the fights contained along these routes. I would try and avoid any long clear routes stopping snipers from camping.
Close quarters fighting where the routes are mixed are always more fun and fairer for all skill levels.
You could set a level within the bowels of a ship, a mixture of small tight doorways and rooms with huge engine rooms.
