Cunnzor Mate, ive been using hammer/worldcraft for a few years now, believe me i am well prepared for a minor Hammer fuck up, this is a bit different mate. Steam has updated CSS without taking into account what will happen to hammer and i dare say the rest of the SDK........ Shame really i was looking forward to getting my tool out and showing it off

well so have i mate and yes its annoying however there is a fix.
another one ok here goes. u need to delete the bin folder of the SDK, then install the beta and refresh the content. it will work then, interestingly the beta seems more stable now so i wonder if this update was something to do with making the new hammer work better.

W00t W00t, the SDK has been updated and now works again
...Hats off to steam this time, Fixing a fook up within a day must be a first !
Ok ive decided to get stuck into a jungle style map
It will give me a chance to play around with some displacement textures... and watch two films again for inspiration:
Predator :- awesome setting for a map, bag of bollox movie but saying that "quick run, get to the chopper" is from that film so will be worth a watch again.
Platoon :- Has to be one of the best movies ever made. i love the little viatnamese straw huts, coupled with the foxholes.... Should make for a good map!
although ive never played it myself ive seen some BF2 screenshots and thought this jungle style shelter would fit in well in the map, would love coments from BF2 players to see if i got it right and if this shelter works well.

I can take a hint Squee mate
The Jungle map is now on hold, and im going to look at doing a version of the plaza if anyone has any thoughts on what would they would like to see included in the map let me know. I like squee's idea of using the top few floors and the rooftop. Im unsure whether to go for a bomb defuse or a hostage scenario. Would love to get some input from you guys.

Shame you cant do both
Yeah I would include the roof top.
The floor below that, the ventilation and elevator shafts/ electrics (where all the dynomite is placed in the film)
Below that an abandon floor (full of hardware, tools, plastic sheeting)
and the last floor should contain the hostages (fountain, meeting rooms etc.)
Thats 4 floors (might be too much but give it a go), keep them small and unique enough so you wont get lost... but large enough to contain 32 players. Include around 3 entry/exit points to each floor, you really want players to explore the level rather then being held back and contained on a floor never getting near the hostages.
Have a look at how de_vertigo was created, its not a great map but would be help in creating a map for the top two floors.
Thats my opinion anyway, Im sure others will disagree.
