yo.
is anyone having any problems with custom map downloads in-game?
i dont seem to be able to get them.
it begins the download then flashes up /maps/mapname.bsp is missing.

quite annoying now.
any ideas?

Do you already have the map in your folder? perhaps you have a corrupt version or a differently named version, try deleating it and then re downloading it, also there is a link to most of the custom maps on the forum somewhere.

Not had a problem downloading any maps. I try to test them once I upload them. Any specific one?

Are you sure it's not because you removed all the textures from the map Ant you hacking barsteward

Biatch server has been doing same thing to me recently. I'll spend an hour downloading one of the new maps form the server and then it'll tell me that my version is diff from servers? I just deleted and d/l again.

I am in the process of uploading all the custom maps again to ensure they are correct.

nice 1 snowy. i dont know why its only done it in the last week or so.
and i have checked in my folders and there werent the maps there.
was very odd :|

lets hope your reupload helps if not i guess its back to hunting for them around the web heeh.

well it wasnt the server snowy. it must be something to do with my setup of cs. have tried to join a few other custom map servers with the same effect :/
it used to work fine but has suddenly decided it wouldnt. pitty.

will just leech the map off web as and when needed.

it is caused by client permission problems on directories it puts the custom stuff..

i havent changed any of the permissions etc..

This happened to some1 on the HST server too, except it was with Dust 2 and the were playing on it 5mins before on the same server

well its still doing it and its getting rather annoying.
shippy any idea how to fix ?

Snowy - do you use sv_downloadurl?

if yes, that could be causing an issue.. i.e. missing files from the web source..

Yes we do and no the files arent missing. Ant is the only person I know of who is having major problems. They download ok for me.

hmmm.. the only time I have seen this was a sv_downloadurl problem not sending the files properly.. I had to disable it so that one user could get the files via the normal CSS download, which worked..

it did attempt to DL the files from the url, and appeared to work.. but the texture never showed up in the game! was really wierd

well what this does its tells me its downloading it. takes about 1 second then tries to join the game and at this point it tells me the .bsp is missing.
no matter i have hunted down most the maps and done them manually.

but a formatt and re-install of everything over the holidays might be in order.
